About The Position

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Home Centre Clerk to join our Home Centre team on a part-time basis at our location in St. Paul, AB. This role is responsible for engaging and interacting with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences. The clerk will ensure department standards are met with inventory, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and displaying products. They will also operate the point of sale system and prepare daily cash reconciliations. Additionally, the role involves answering customer inquiries about hardware items, gathering carts from the parking lot, and following proper maintenance and housekeeping procedures. The position requires adherence to the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand, and focus on safety.

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge in hardware, plumbing, electrical, and related areas.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent retail and/or customer service experience.
  • Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. Loads exceeding 50 lbs will be managed with lifting equipment or assistance in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Able to stand and move throughout your shift, including walking, bending, and reaching while staying active with tasks such as assisting customers, unloading freight and stocking shelves.
  • Action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
  • Ensure department standards are met with inventory, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and displaying products.
  • Operate point of sale system and prepare daily cash reconciliations.
  • Answer customer inquiries about hardware items (tools, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Provide outstanding co-op experiences for member-owners and guests.
  • Gather carts from the parking lot and ensure they are available for customers.
  • Follow proper maintenance and housekeeping procedures.
  • Be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
  • Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
