About The Position

Mederi Private Care, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, is hiring PRN home-based Caregivers in Gainesville and surrounding areas. The Caregiver provides support, personal hygiene assistance, and help with household functions so clients can remain in their own homes. The role includes personal care and daily-living assistance, household support, client monitoring and documentation, and helping maintain a safe environment. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Requirements

• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, with reliable transportation or access to public transit.
• For Florida: completion of 40-hour AHCA-required training or passing the AHCA competency test.
• Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Nice To Haves

• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
• Six or more months of home care experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
• Support household tasks and meal preparation, and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
• Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents; maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
• Ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
