About The Position

We are looking for a Home Care Worker to join the Silverchain team in the Hills area. This role involves helping older members of our community maintain their homes and enhance their wellbeing, enabling them to live independently at home for longer. Silverchain is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing 'Best Care,' which is safe, personal, connected, and effective. We are accredited in both national health and aged care standards and reinvest funds into research and innovative care models.

Requirements

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence.
• Your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems.
• Ability to not take personal issues personally and shake them off before the next client.
• Ability to ask manager for help when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in community care or aged care is preferred but not essential.
• Enjoy having variety in their day.
• Passionate about providing an excellent service.
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.

Responsibilities

• Providing home help services such as general housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding, and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Helping family carers have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
