About The Position

McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency committed to providing compassionate, reliable, one-on-one care to clients in their homes. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and adjusting client and caregiver schedules. This position requires a positive attitude, strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, can manage changing priorities, and understands the importance of reliable scheduling in home care.

Requirements

  • Previous scheduling experience required, preferably in home care, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and changing priorities professionally.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional, dependable, and solution-focused attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to Venice, Florida.
  • Second form of ID, such as Social Security card or passport.
  • Auto insurance with expiration dates visible.
  • Level 2 AHCA background screening for the State of Florida, or willingness to complete.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WellSky/ClearCare or similar scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain caregiver schedules based on client needs and caregiver availability.
  • Match caregivers with clients using availability, location, skills, preferences, and continuity of care.
  • Fill open shifts and respond to daily schedule changes, call-offs, and staffing needs.
  • Communicate schedule updates clearly with caregivers, clients, families, and office staff.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling information in the scheduling platform.
  • Build professional relationships with clients and caregivers.
  • Support scheduling consistency for both clients and caregivers whenever possible.
  • Monitor caregiver availability and communicate hiring needs to the recruiting team.
  • Report caregiver concerns to HR and clinical or client concerns to the appropriate nursing or management team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect client and caregiver privacy.
  • Document scheduling updates, changes, and communication accurately.
  • Assist with problem-solving to support smooth daily operations.
  • Be willing to assist with shift coverage if needed.
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation approximately every 3 weeks.
