About The Position

Live Long Well Care of Mount Airy, NC is seeking Part Time and PRN CNA/Caregiver/Companions for their Mount Airy and King locations. The role involves providing personal care and companionship to seniors in their homes. While CNA certification is not required, it is considered a plus and compensated with a premium. The position requires availability to work some weekends, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and an up-to-date smartphone for electronic documentation. Services will be provided to clients within a 30-mile radius of the branch. Requirements

High school graduation or GED required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Ability to work with minimal or close supervision.
Must conduct all business in a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
Must pass competency testing on hire and ongoing for meal preparation, housekeeping, infection control, safety in the home, proper handling of emergencies, transportation, pet walking and care.
Must have an updated Android or iPhone smartphone device.
Current listing with no substantial finding on state Aide Registry, if applicable.
Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
Eligibility to drive on company business and a satisfactory driving record (age 21-70, no denied/revoked/suspended licenses in the last 3 years, no more than two at-fault accidents in 3 years, no more than three moving violations in 5 years, no DUI/DWI/reckless driving/vehicular homicide in the last 5 years).
Possess the physical ability to perform job-related duties which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, pulling and the ability to provide partial or complete assistance with non-personal activities of daily living, without assistance from another healthcare worker, or significant other.
Ability to work in time-sensitive or stressful situations.
Ability to commute to various client locations throughout the workday/week.

Nice To Haves

CNA certification is a plus.
Two years’ experience in a similar position desired.
Two years’ experience working with the elderly desired.

Responsibilities

Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living): Bathing, Dressing, Toileting, Transferring, Feeding, and Mobility Assistance including using transfer aids.
Meal Preparation & Cooking.
Light Housekeeping & Laundry (washing dishes, cleaning kitchen, laundering clothes, bed linens, and other daily/weekly housekeeping).
Grocery Shopping/Errands/Transportation.
Working with Dementia/Alzheimer’s Clients.
Providing companionship for the patient/client while engaging in daily activities.
Pet services (assisting clients with grooming, feeding, walking, bathing).
Representing the company positively and creating an environment of respect and courtesy.
Promoting safety and well-being of clients and employees.
Providing general assistance and care to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
Accurately and thoroughly documenting services provided in accordance with agency policy.
Immediately reporting any changes in patient/client’s needs, condition, or incidents to the supervisor.
Listening and responding to patient/client’s needs sensitively and in a timely manner.
