Plan and implement a weekly home-based program for up to 10 children ages 3–5 and their families. Coordinate the integrated delivery of child development, health, nutrition, and parent involvement using the Head Start curriculum. Supplemental social-emotional curricula will be prioritized and used alongside the Head Start curriculum to build the self-regulation skills children need to succeed in a preschool classroom. The Home Base Teacher will support mental health and disabilities services and provide bi-monthly group socialization experiences for children and families in accordance with program, state, and federal guidelines. The program describes its learning community as a partnership with parents and children that celebrates diversity and promotes support, respect, trust, safety, and belonging. Its 2024–2029 goals include implementing Conscious Discipline, improving children’s attendance, providing high-quality comprehensive school- and life-readiness services through a two-generation approach, and hiring and retaining staff committed to its mission and to trauma-informed, relationship-based early childhood practice.
