About The Position

KenCrest is hiring compassionate people to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their communities. This role offers flexible part-time shifts during the day, afternoon, and early evening, with no overnights required. Some shifts are only a couple of hours long, while others can be combined for a fuller schedule based on availability. In this role, you will help people build confidence, learn everyday skills, and access the community through activities like grocery shopping, library visits, or assistance with getting to appointments. You will use your own car to provide occasional transportation, which is crucial for supporting someone's independence. KenCrest provides training and support, and no prior healthcare or direct care experience is necessary, only a caring heart and a willingness to learn.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
Driver's License, insurance and registration must be aligned with state of permanent residence
Willingness to use your vehicle to transport individuals when needed
Clean background check, drug screen, and acceptable driving record (per state guidelines)

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, creativity, and a team-first attitude

Responsibilities

Support individuals as they practice life skills like cooking, laundry, or using public transportation
Provide transportation in your personal vehicle for community outings, errands, or appointments
Help individuals build social skills and confidence in group or public settings
Assist with navigating everyday challenges and celebrating progress
Encourage independence while offering reliable, compassionate support
