About The Position

Our Hockey Instructors are lead coaches who instruct our hockey classes for kids aged 5-14. They are responsible for running practices or hockey skills stations, ensuring the safety of skaters, and maintaining communication with parents. The role also involves managing hockey equipment and collaborating with other instructors.

Requirements

Must be able to demonstrate advanced hockey skills.
Must be flexible and available to work evening and weekend shifts.
Must have previous skating and hockey experience.
Must be at least 16 years old.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with children or teaching children is a plus.

Responsibilities

Instruct hockey classes for kids aged 5-14.
Run a practice or a hockey skills station for up to 5 skaters at a time.
Arrive 30 minutes early to hand out lender gear and stay 15 minutes after class to put gear away.
Help players get sized for hockey gear during initial sessions.
Keep the lender gear hockey room neat.
Take initiative and set up equipment before classes.
Communicate with other instructors about warm-up and weekly skills.
Assist in filling out evaluation forms during the last week of classes.
Ensure the safety of skaters at all times and fill out necessary accident reports.
Turn in all reports to the Hockey Director and Rink Manager.
Maintain good communication with parents regarding activities and child's progress.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Hockey Director.
Be available to work the 4th of July parade.
Potentially serve as a summer hockey camp counselor.
