About The Position

Hexcel is an industry leader in the manufacturing of advanced composite materials, including carbon fiber, woven reinforcements, resins, prepregs, honeycombs, and engineered core, driven by strong investment in research and development and a culture of continuous improvement. The company is seeking a HOBE Mill Operator for its Pottsville, PA, USA location. The selected individual will be responsible for processing material within the HOBE department, ensuring acceptable productivity rates and accuracy requirements. This involves reading and following written and verbal work instructions, performing machine setup, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality product, and operating equipment such as the expander, belting, and HOBE Mill. The role also requires working as part of a team to complete HOBE trimming, expanding, hand routing, bonding, special process work, trimming of product, and pre-packing. Key responsibilities include identifying the “L” and “W” of expanded honeycomb, determining cell count and ribbon direction, ensuring inventory accuracy associated with the product group, and recording transactions in the RF Smart system. Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months experience required, preferably in manufacturing
  • Must have a Forklift Certification or be able to obtain the forklift certification
  • Must be detail oriented and possess good organizational skills
  • Possess good hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Basic computer skills – WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint
  • Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum

Responsibilities

  • Process material within the HOBE department
  • Read and follow written, and verbal work instructions
  • Maintain acceptable productivity rates and accuracy requirements
  • Perform machine setup, tools and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality product
  • Run the expander, belting, and HOBE Mill
  • Work as a team to complete HOBE trimming, expanding, hand routing, bonding, special process work, trimming of product and pre-packing
  • Identify the “L” and the W” of expanded honeycomb and determine cell count and ribbon direction
  • Ensure inventory accuracy associated with the product group
  • Record transactions in the RF Smart system and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervision
