About The Position

Responsible for performing the delivery, pick up, and maintenance of all types of medical equipment. The incumbent is also responsible for the safe and proper instruction in the use of the equipment. Communicates with a variety of care givers such as nurses, OR personnel, physicians and patients regarding transfer and use of medical equipment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Medical equipment transfer, storage and cleaning 1-3 years
  • Class A Commercial Driver License - Arkansas Motor Vehicle
  • Qualified to be insurable by Methodist Healthcare’s insurance company for driving a delivery vehicle.

  • Ability to understand moderately complex written materials, such as geographical maps and patient records and manufacturers specifications and preventative maintenance recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with associates, vendors and others.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers, picks up and sets up medical and related equipment to necessary facilities as assigned with regard to the age specific populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
  • Assures equipment is operating safely and proper training is completed.
  • Performs appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of all medical equipment being stored and transferred.
  • Completes preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleaning on delivery vans and warehousing facilities.
  • Participates in quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure hospital, DNV, OSHA, DOT, and other quality and safety standards are met.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned.
