About The Position

Responsible for the Home Lending post-closing process by ensuring loan files meet investor requirements. This role ensures documentation and files are fully complete and in compliance. The specialist collaborates with Funding, Secondary, and other operational and sales associates to facilitate the delivery of complete and compliant loan packages to investors. Responsibilities include performing downloads from electronic loan files to imaging and depository systems, issuing and guaranteeing mortgage loans using external websites, and activating and paying for mortgage insurance. The role demands excellent data integrity and accuracy while maintaining service level agreements and regulatory compliance. The specialist will partner and collaborate with all Home Lending associates to ensure open communication, timely responses, expedient and accurate trailing condition gathering and clearing, and a superior customer experience. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement is also a key aspect of this role. The position requires compliance with all bank regulations for the assigned job function and application to designated job responsibilities, including staying up-to-date on regulation and policy changes. Following all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completing all required annual or job-specific training is mandatory. The role may involve assisting with coaching, mentoring, or training others, and teaching coursework as a Subject Matter Expert or acting as a resource for other Home Lending associates as needed. Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words. Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in mortgage lending, processing, funding, title, escrow or related field and at least 5 years of experience as a Post-Closing Specialist.
  • Advanced knowledge of mortgage loan documents and title, escrow, and general mortgage flow and functions or related banking or financial field.
  • Advanced understanding of regulatory requirements or ability to understand and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong verbal communication and personal interaction skills, with ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external customer relationships.
  • Strong organizational and reading comprehension skills.
  • Proficient with personal computer and related software packages, including MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, and LOS, and other business machines.
  • Proficient with data entry and possess that ability to balance production standards with data integrity and accuracy.
