About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Histotechnologist to perform routine procedures in its Surgical Pathology laboratory. The laboratory is a large, busy Anatomic Pathology operation with automated histology processing, a diverse and high volume of specimens, and clinical interaction. The role is based at the NYP Westchester campus in Bronxville, New York, and is part-time on the evening shift, including weekends. On-site presence is required, and employees should live within commuting distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in science and completion of an approved, accredited Histology program, or a bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, or certification as a Histology Technician or Clinical Lab Technician from the New York State Education Department.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in Histology.
• Experience with special staining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histotechnologist procedures, including specimen accessioning, grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, labeling, and distribution.
