About The Position

Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine seek full-time Academic Surgical Pathologists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join a staff of 25 Surgical Pathologists. The Department of Pathology is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast and receives approximately 66,000 surgical pathology specimens annually. The Surgical Pathology Division uses a hybrid subspecialty sign-out model, combining two or more subspecialties. Candidates should have fellowship training in Head and Neck, Thoracic, Genitourinary, Breast, or Gynecologic Pathology. Collaborative and translational research opportunities are available and encouraged. The role offers a competitive salary of $250,000–$375,000, depending on experience, plus productivity incentives and benefits.

Requirements

Subspecialty fellowship training in Head and Neck, Thoracic, Genitourinary, Breast, or Gynecologic Pathology.
Solid diagnostic skills.
Enthusiasm for teaching.
Strong communication abilities.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in AP/CP or A/P.
Have or be able to obtain a New York State medical license.
Submit an updated CV with three references.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical services in surgical pathology.
Interact with clinicians and multidisciplinary patient care teams.
Participate in the residency training program and medical student education.
Contribute to other departmental activities.
Pursue collaborative and translational research opportunities, which are available and encouraged.
