Histotechnologist - Surgical Pathology - Part Time - Evenings
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Histotechnologist for its Surgical Pathology team at the Westchester campus in Bronxville, New York. The Anatomic Pathology laboratory is described as one of New York’s largest and busiest, with a high level of clinical interaction, diversified specimens, and a fully automated Histology lab that supports expedited processing. The Histotechnologist performs routine procedures including specimen accessioning, grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, labeling, and distribution using state-of-the-art equipment. This is a part-time evening position that includes weekends. The role requires on-site presence, and employees should live within commuting distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Requirements
- Associate degree in science and completion of an approved, accredited Histology program, or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License, or certification as a Histology Technician or Clinical Lab Technician from the New York State Education Department.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in Histology.
- Experience with special staining procedures.
Responsibilities
