About The Position

Performs a wide range of routine and complex procedures in a timely and accurate manner. Uses various chemicals and equipment for processing, embedding, microtomy, immunohistochemistry, and special stains. Routine and complex testing is performed according to laboratory standard operating procedures to ensure that the pathologist has adequate tissue slides for diagnosis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histology program.
• ASCP certification as a Histology Technologist HTL required
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support daily histology lab operations.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage resources effectively to ensure efficient and accurate results within the histology department.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of routine and complex procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
• Uses various chemicals and equipment for processing, embedding, microtomy, immunohistochemistry, and special stains.
• Ensures all testing follows laboratory standard operating procedures so the pathologist receives accurate and complete slides for diagnosis.
• Communicates effectively and appropriately using clear and credible language.
• Demonstrates sound judgment in determining what to communicate, to whom, and the best method for communication.
• Listens actively and allows others to fully express their points.
• Demonstrates strong job knowledge and technical competency in daily work.
