About The Position

The Histology Technician will perform the various tasks required for receiving, processing, and preparing tissue specimens to serve as a critical raw material for subsequent production activities. This may include logging, batching, cutting, mounting, and other procedures.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience as a laboratory technician or experience as a histology technician OR Associate or bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of experience as a laboratory technician or experience as a histology technician
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow procedures written in English.

Nice To Haves

Experience with cryostat microtome
Prior experience as a histology technician
HT (ASCP), HTL (ASCP), or equivalent certification
Good oral or written communication skills.
Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills; deadline-driven work ethic.
Team players who perform well in a steady or fast-paced environment.
Well-organized, ability to work efficiently and independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Utilize a freeze cutter to produce frozen tissue sections to be used in our assays.
Position the tissue sections onto suitable carrier glass for further processing.
Proficiently pack the carrier glasses and ensure their subsequent storage.
Participate in day-to-day production activities accurately following detailed work instructions, processes, and procedures.
Identify quality and defects within process, product, or equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintain appropriate records and complete other production related paperwork.
Provide training to coworkers as needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other delegated tasks, as required.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
