About The Position

The Histology Technician supports patient care by embedding specimens and preparing slides for routine H&E and special stain procedures. The role performs and documents scheduled preventive maintenance, recognizes when troubleshooting is needed for processing, embedding, cutting, and staining, and works in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards. The technician champions safety, compliance, and quality control. The position has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees must maintain strict confidentiality and access PHI only as required to perform their duties.

The position is based in Exeter, New Hampshire, and is scheduled Monday through Friday overnight, for 40 hours per week. The employer describes a supportive, inclusive, team-oriented workplace and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

• Graduate from a school of Histotechnology accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS.
• Hold HT (ASCP) certification.
• Have at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high-complexity testing.
• Have certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory.
• Documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience.
