About The Position

Histology Technician who excels in this role: Able to perform/knowledge of all items in the Histology Competency Assessment Booklet and takes initiative to complete competencies. Meets turn-around-time standards. Maintains orderly filing system for block and slides. Block and slide prep completed accurately. Orders Histo/Cyto supplies. Correct entry of information into Windowpath computer system. Statistical/QA reports complete and timely. Maintenance is performed adequately on equipment.

Requirements

• Completion of a certified Histology Tech program.
• Completion of appropriate training/internship.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required to be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department
• Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required.
• Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner.
• Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
• CLA or equivalent training in histology.

• One year of experience preferred.
