Requirements

HT or HTL (ASCP) certified or
HT or HTL eligible – bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment while adhering to OSHA/CLIA requirements
Ability to work efficiently with other team members to meet daily processing deadlines
Highly organized
Extremely detail oriented

Nice To Haves

Frozen section experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Accession specimens for grossing
Prepare skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination
Process and embed samples
Section paraffin-embedded samples
Prepare reagents, solutions, control slides, and special stains
Accurately label tissue samples and slides
Other duties as assigned, including performing routine maintenance and cleaning, filing slides and blocks
