About The Position

The Histology Tech supports the delivery of patient care by performing histology techniques used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The role performs histology processing, including embedding, microtomy, and manual or automated staining, in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation requirements. The technician must organize and complete work assignments within the scheduled time.

The position is in the Histology area at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
• 1–2 years of previous job-related experience.
• Previous histology experience, including embedding and microtomy.
• Experience embedding and cutting with IHC or special staining.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in IHC and special staining.
• Associate's degree or equivalent training acquired through work experience or education.
• Registered HT or HTL (ASCP).
