About The Position

This is an internal position for current NC State Student Centers student employees. The Hiring Committee Member reports to the Hiring Manager and Student Development Coordinator and is responsible for assisting in the hiring process for new student employees. This role involves reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and maintaining professionalism throughout the hiring practice. The position requires 2-4 hours per week during peak hiring times and participation in weekly office hours and mandatory meetings.

Requirements

  • Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, and roll up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work with and manage a team to serve a diverse population
  • Elevated oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to support other functions of NC State Student Centers
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings, student employee orientation, and training sessions
  • Current NCSSC employees only

Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other Hiring Committee Members, Hiring Manager and Graduate Assistant for Student Success to ensure good hiring practice
  • Review applications using our online review process
  • Conduct interviews autonomously and as a team
  • Ability to use a hiring rubric fairly during application review and interview process
  • Maintain professionalism at all times
  • Ability to communicate availability to contribute to interview process
  • Maintain current role(s) with NC State Student Centers
  • Attend weekly office hours during peak hiring times (i.e. March, April, September, November) and when called in by Hiring Manager
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and monthly one-hour Hiring Committee Meetings
  • Remain in compliance with NC State Student Centers student employee policies and expectations at all times
  • Arriving early for shifts
  • Having on a complete uniform
  • Clocking in and clocking out in a timely fashion
  • Cell phones are only used at appropriate times
  • Prioritize the client
  • Finish all duties before taking a break

Benefits

  • Minimum starting wage $12.00/hr with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises.
  • End-of-semester bonus up to $200.
