Hire Education Associate
About The Position
Arc Broward’s School of Hire Program is seeking an energetic and compassionate Hire Education Associate to support young people as they overcome barriers, discover their strengths, and build brighter futures. The position supports students with disabilities in developing self-advocacy and work skills, progressing toward their goals, and participating in learning experiences at community business sites. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a pay rate of $17.30 per hour. Arc Broward is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of people with developmental disabilities and other life challenges. It describes its environment as mission-driven, supportive, innovative, and people-first, and provides training through its Arc Educates program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of prior work experience supporting youth with disabilities.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Successful Level II background check, physical, and drug screen.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
- Drive students to various community sites during the school day.
- Support students’ self-advocacy.
- Assist the ESE teacher in implementing lesson plans.
- Work directly with students to help them make progress on their goals.
- Supervise and coach students learning work skills at business sites in the community.
