About The Position

The HIM Operations Business Partner supports the planning, execution and completion of projects and operational activities related to Health Information Management in all hospitals and Joint Ventures. This role provides direct assistance to the Director HIM Operations, Manager HIM Chart Completion, and Manager HIM Operations. It is responsible for advancing Health Information Management initiatives and workflow improvements to ensure accurate and complete patient records. The Business Partner collaborates with leadership to plan and implement change management strategies, including communication, training, and policy development. A key aspect of the role is driving standardization of HIM processes across all hospitals and Joint Ventures, while maintaining documentation and compliance standards. Additional responsibilities include triaging incoming requests, monitoring and trending key metrics, and escalating complex issues when necessary. The position also contributes to process improvement efforts and offers training and mentorship to team members. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • 3 years Health Information Management (HIM) Experience
  • 2 years Electronic Health Record (EHR) Experience
  • 1 year Process Improvement Experience
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Required

Responsibilities

  • Triage, research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming inquires.
  • Work with others as needed to resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Promote and maintain standardization of the EHR and workflows across the corporation.
  • Acts as an extension of HIM Division Management by serving as a liaison between HIM, hospital and JV leadership, medical staff, clinical departments and customers.
  • Serves as the initial go-to person and ensures follow-up is completed.
  • Prioritize and follow up on division initiatives and tracking to help ensure efficiency.
  • Participates as a member of the HIM team on such things as meetings, group initiatives, covers for teammates during vacations, provides timely and accurate responses to all stakeholders.
  • Assist leadership and coworkers in the planning, development, and on-going maintenance of the HIM division functions and projects. Including supporting all hospitals and Joint Ventures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on HIM regulatory compliance, document imaging workflows, deficiency analysis, chart completion requirements, and DNB HIM processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health information laws and regulations including medical records management, confidentiality, information storage and retrieval, designated record set, and related HIM and hospital policies/procedures, medical staff bylaws/rules/regulations.
  • Monitor and work assigned queues timely to ensure patient information and claims are processed timely.
  • Partner with the Education and Training team to ensure material is updated and communicated to staff for process changes.
  • Stay current with healthcare technology, applications, and related HIM regulations and standards.
