About The Position

Advance your career in Health Information Management (HIM) at UW Health. We are seeking a HIM Operational Supervisor to provide supervision of day-to-day enterprise operations and oversight of all department activities. This role is responsible for efficient and effective workflows, quality assurance, training, performance management, and continuing education activities. The supervisor will function as an expert enterprise resource, staying informed about new technology, processes, and federal/state policy changes. This position requires collaboration with other teams to ensure policies and procedures remain current and that all staff are aware of changes. The role also involves participating in enterprise-wide committees such as the Legal Medical Record (LMR) and Medical Record Committee, and conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate departmental and organization information.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in healthcare-related field Required
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree in addition to the experience below
  • 2 years of healthcare with progressively responsible experience managing or leading a production-based environment and/or healthcare setting Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree or college level study leading to a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification by the American Health Information Management Association. Preferred
  • Experience in a teaching/research facility Preferred
  • Experience in a Health Information Management (HIM) setting Preferred
  • RHIA Preferred or
  • RHIT Preferred
