About The Position

Fairfax Behavioral Health is seeking a detailed Health Information Technician/Coder for its Monroe location. This role involves processing discharge charts, including ICD-10 coding, chart assembly and analysis, and data entry across multiple systems. The HIM Technician/coder will also support the HIM department by scanning charts, assisting the ROI Coordinator, completing departmental tasks, and aiding the Director of HIM as needed. Additionally, the position is responsible for maintaining accurate patient records for in-house patients and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience.
  • 1 year in a health care setting required.
  • CPC, or CCS, or RHIT, or RHIA.
  • Successful completion of Verbal De-Escalation and Handle with Care certifications, and CPR (provided during Fairfax new hire training).
