About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a HIM Medical Records Archive Specialist to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: HIM/ Medical Records Clerk is responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient medical records. This includes organizing and retrieving patient charts, ensuring all documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards, and safeguarding patient information. The department is also responsible for verifying that all required medical forms are properly completed and filed. In addition, the team collaborates with healthcare providers and other departments to facilitate efficient patient care while adhering to hospital policies and privacy regulations. The Medical Records Archive and Destruction Clerk is responsible for organizing, archiving, and securely disposing of patient medical records in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medical records management, is a plus.
