About The Position

The HIM Deficiency Analyst oversees chart deficiencies and incomplete medical records by ensuring all required documentation and provider signatures are obtained. Also ensuring record accuracy through proper document indexing within the electronic medical record system.

Requirements

Knowledge of chart documentation requirements and provider signature requirements necessary for chart completion and accuracy
Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of medical terminology and asks questions appropriately to clarify misunderstandings
Respects and maintains confidentiality of patient, customer, and hospital information
High school education or equivalent with preferred emphasis on business courses that include typing, business English and office procedures
Word processing and computer experience desirable.

Nice To Haves

Medical records experience preferred.
Medical secretarial or approved vocational training program for medical transcriptionist appreciated but not necessary, will train.
If applicable, documented equivalent of training, experience or education.
