About The Position

This role involves managing medical records, ensuring timely completion by physicians, and processing release of information requests. The HIM Analyst will also be responsible for physician training on the EMR system, managing vendor mail, and participating in performance improvement activities. The position requires a high school diploma, one year of experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office, and knowledge of computer database applications.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have a minimum of one-year experience working in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Must have working knowledge of computer database applications.
Must demonstrate attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve.
Must possess excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Conducts Physician deficiency reanalysis review.
Reviews timely dictation of operative reports on a daily basis.
Generates statistics for incomplete/delinquent medical records.
Sends notifications to physicians regarding record completion.
Follow-up on with physician on outstanding record completion issues.
Conducts Physician training on the EMR and record completion.
Manages mail for the ROI Vendor.
Processes all release of information requests for the Business Office.
Conducts record review under the supervision of the HIM Supervisor.
Handles incoming calls.
Processes requests for release of information for patients and physicians when applicable.
Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
