About The Position

The Hilo Driver / Material Handler is part of MillerKnoll’s Operations Technician pay-for-skills program, which supports skill development and opportunities to increase compensation. Skill blocks may include assembly, machine operation, or material handling.

Material Handling employees receive, store, and pull raw and finished goods through the facility while maintaining safety, accuracy, timely movement, and proper part tracking. The role operates material-handling equipment, follows standard work methods and safe work practices, cross-trains in other departments, and rotates among department workstations based on business needs. A valid forklift license must be maintained, and work must follow MIOSHA standards.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED), or work experience demonstrating performance competency.
• Competence in basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Ability to work cooperatively with the team and members of other teams to meet goals.
• Willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to communicate and to see with or without correction.
• Valid forklift license must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and pull raw and finished goods safely, accurately, and in a timely manner, maintaining proper part tracking.
• Operate standup, sit-down, and swing-reach forklifts and aerial lifts safely and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a valid forklift license and follow MIOSHA standards as a professional Material Handler.
• Follow standard work methods and safe work habits to support efficient and safe production.
• Learn additional functions through cross-training in other departments.
• Communicate effectively.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
• Rotate through department workstations based on business needs.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
