Deloitte•Los Angeles, CA
•$174,000 - $188,700•Onsite

About The Position

Deloitte is hiring an experienced Test Engineer through its Project Delivery Talent Model, a model designed for long-term, onsite client service delivery. The role is based onsite five days per week in Los Angeles, California, and involves manual and automated hardware-in-the-loop functional and regression testing of AV fleets for meeting and collaboration spaces. The engineer will prepare and configure test environments, design and execute tests, validate Crestron and Q-SYS control systems, test codec and peripheral interoperability and audio processing, and simulate hardware failures. The position also involves scripting and debugging tests, staging and maintaining physical AV lab systems and network VLANs, documenting procedures for a new space product, and producing test results and release-readiness materials. Work must comply with applicable grip, rigging, electrical, and facility safety rules.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in hardware-in-the-loop testing, including manual and framework-driven functional and regression testing of AV software, firmware, and hardware against defined requirements in a physical lab.
  • At least 6 years of experience validating AV control systems, including control logic and user interfaces on Crestron and Q-SYS or equivalent platforms, control code, device communication, and system integration.
  • Ability to create, execute, translate, and debug test scripts, including Lua and Google-proprietary control syntax.
  • Experience staging, physically mounting, integrating into racks, configuring, tearing down, and troubleshooting AV test systems.
  • Experience configuring test environments from preliminary or evolving documentation and tracking engineering discrepancies, documentation gaps, and anomalies in Buganizer.
  • Ability to follow film/television grip, rigging, and electrical safety protocols and Google facility safety rules.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and ability to lead projects or workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual functional and regression tests on AV fleets for meeting and collaboration spaces using hardware-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Prepare test execution by deploying software to test environments, configuring hardware, and generating test data.
  • Design and review test cases, load them into the test tracking tool, perform exploratory testing, log bugs, verify and retest fixes, and provide release sign-off.
  • Stage, mount, rack, configure, and tear down physical AV test systems to commercial AV design and installation standards.
  • Test control logic and user interfaces on Crestron and Q-SYS platforms; create, execute, translate, and debug test scripts, including Lua scripts.
  • Validate codec and peripheral interoperability and audio processing behavior across release tracks.
  • Perform manual and automated on-device testing.
  • Simulate real-world hardware failure scenarios.
  • Maintain and validate lab environments, test rigs, and network VLANs.
  • Help design and document testing procedures for a new space product being ramped up.
  • Log engineering discrepancies, documentation gaps, and hardware or software anomalies in Buganizer.
  • Produce daily fleet release-readiness reports and failure reports, including troubleshooting steps and proposed workarounds.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, manage and prioritize multiple tasks, build professional relationships, and meet deadlines.

Benefits

  • Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules and applicable factors.
  • Professional development opportunities, including on-the-job learning, formal development programs, leadership opportunities, and mentorship.
  • A broad range of employee benefits; the posting refers to a separate Project Delivery Model benefits document.
