About The Position

Medtronic is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Senior Software Test Engineer to support testing and quality assurance for its Affera Mapping and Ablation System. The role focuses on the reliability and performance of advanced medical-device software, including real-time, high-performance visualization applications and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments for embedded or medical systems. The Affera system maps the heart’s electrical activity to help physicians identify arrhythmia-causing areas and delivers targeted energy to restore normal heart rhythm. The position is onsite at least four days per week. The engineer tests systems software in standalone and HIL environments, develops and executes manual test plans and scripts, evaluates conformance to technical and functional requirements, documents test results, and recommends quality improvements. The role also involves collaborating with engineers to diagnose and resolve software defects and improve product configuration for current and future models. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and at least two years, or a PhD with no minimum experience specified. Experience with HIL testing in an embedded or medical-device environment is required. Preferred qualifications include expertise in medical-product verification and relevant standards and guidance, hardware debugging, test automation, technical reporting, test-case management tools, and cross-functional collaboration.
