About The Position

Ford is seeking a HIL Development Supervisor to lead the development and maintenance of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems that support the Battery Management System (BMS) and power conversion components. The role builds and champions tools, methods, and processes for fast, robust software validation and leads collaboration among global engineering teams. The position shapes the test infrastructure and development toolchain behind next-generation electrified vehicle systems. The supervisor works across engineering functions and global sites to align HIL capabilities with development needs, mature MIL/SIL/PIL testing methods, and establish processes for information sharing and status reporting. The role also coordinates budgeting and procurement for BMS HIL, Power HIL, and high-voltage simulation systems, maintains documentation for team-owned HIL designs and tools, and supports timely, high-quality software validation.

  • 8+ years of software and systems development experience.
  • Strong familiarity with software specification, development, and validation, including HIL systems.
  • Working knowledge of power conversion components, including DC/DC converters, chargers, and DCFC communication.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and validation toolchains.
  • Proven leadership experience working across distributed or global engineering teams, with the ability to bridge gaps and resolve integration challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.

  • Partner with Controls Architecture, BMS Hardware, BMS Software, Software Testing, Power Conversion teams, and HIL technical experts to align HIL system capability with development needs.
  • Expand and mature MIL/SIL/PIL testing methods to accelerate system validation.
  • Evaluate and recommend toolchains and processes that meet current and future software development and testing needs across global engineering sites.
  • Lead the technical interface between global engineering teams on software toolset development, establishing robust processes for information sharing and status reporting.
  • Own budgeting and procurement coordination for hardware and software required for BMS HIL, Power HIL, and high-voltage simulation systems.
  • Maintain complete documentation for HIL system designs and toolsets owned by the team.
  • Support the BMS validation team to ensure on-time, high-quality software validation.
