What You Will Do: As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to: Serve the public and contribute to making Ohio's roads safer. Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if you are not already a licensed CDL holder. Perform a variety of highway maintenance activities, such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing. Participate in snow and ice operations to ensure safe travel during winter conditions. Requirements

  • Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing, & speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
  • Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

  • The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
  • All final applicants tentatively selected for the position will be required to undergo urinalysis to test for illegal drug use before appointment.
