About The Position

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification of Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) based on their qualifications. This role serves the public by working to make Ohio roads safer. Responsibilities include performing highway maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing, as well as participating in snow and ice operations. The position may require attending training to obtain CDL licensure if not already held.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
  • Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
  • All candidates applying for employment opportunities should be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
