About The Position

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is hiring full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform highway maintenance operations in the Northern Virginia and DC area. The role involves a variety of maintenance tasks and requires compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Technicians must be flexible and available for on-call work and night work when necessary. The hourly rate depends on experience, certifications, and licenses.

The position involves working as part of a team and may include lighting, sign, guardrail, and bridge repair; heavy equipment operations; road patrol; and incident response. The company provides personal protective equipment, training opportunities, and a compensation and benefits package for full-time employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain company standards for background checks, including criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing.
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions.
• Ability to maintain and use the proper safety equipment required for each job.
• Ability to adapt to the latest technology and use a smartphone and applications.
• Ability to adjust to a changing work schedule.
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Clean driving record.
• Must pass a criminal background check; fingerprinting is required and provided by the company.

Responsibilities
