About The Position

We are seeking an exceptional High Voltage Test Technician to join our advanced research and development team supporting high-energy pulsed power systems, high-voltage equipment, explosives testing, directed energy systems, and specialized government programs. This is not a production or maintenance technician position. We are looking for a highly capable, hands-on problem solver who enjoys building one-of-a-kind systems, troubleshooting complex hardware, and working alongside engineers to develop new technologies. The ideal candidate is the person everyone calls when something has to be built, repaired, modified, or made to work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in industrial, military, aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or R&D environments.
  • Outstanding mechanical aptitude with the ability to build, repair, and fabricate equipment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and common shop tools.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to independently solve technical problems with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, modify, and maintain high-voltage and pulsed power systems.
  • Build mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies from engineering drawings and concepts.
  • Perform troubleshooting on high-voltage systems using systematic diagnostic techniques.
  • Fabricate brackets, fixtures, test hardware, and custom mechanical components.
  • Install and route cables, connectors, hydraulic lines, pneumatic systems, and instrumentation.
  • Assist with integration of diagnostics, sensors, controls, and data acquisition equipment.
  • Support field testing at remote test sites.
  • Operate forklifts, skid steers, cranes, and other shop equipment as needed.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, tooling, and test facilities.
  • Perform testing while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures for high voltage, explosives, lasers, and other hazardous operations.
  • Document repairs, modifications, and test activities.
