Job Summary: Maintain and repair components of high voltage (4,160 to 13,200 volts) (V) alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) electrical distribution systems and associated low voltage (120V to 600V) equipment. Construct, install, operate, maintain, repair, modify, inspect, and manage electrical equipment, metering equipment, public lighting, power distribution systems, and other systems applicable to plant machinery and underground distribution systems. Locates USF Utility systems as part of the sushine811 Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act. Responds to electric system outages and provides leadership when locating and correcting power failures. Primary Voltage (4160V-13,200V) Preventative Maintenance and Inspection (PMI), Repair, and Operation: · Perform manhole PMI and pump out manholes, infrared terminations, and splices for switches. · Perform routine preventive maintenance of standard electrical distribution equipment. · Perform transformer PMI settings, gauges maintenance, infrared testing, etc. · Maintain, alter, and repair existing wiring and electrical circuits · Troubleshoot, testing, analysis, and calibrate distribution components using test equipment. · locating and correcting primary power failures and short circuits · Construct and install system components, equipment, and fixtures · Perform switching operations, system grounding, and breaker operations · Provide support for USF construction projects and repairs · Inspect and approve/disapprove contractors’ work
