The Airfield Lighting Electrician/Technician (High Voltage Electrician) will provide maintenance and repair support services for equipment, airfield lighting, and illuminated signage/ markers proximate to all active aviation surfaces including both runways, taxiways, helipads, to include all airfield lighting, airfield lighting electrical vault(s), rotating/pulsed lighting beacons, illuminated directional markings, perform installing, testing, repairing, and maintenance of high voltage electric power-controlling equipment and/or distribution lines. Work requires knowledge of electrical principles, procedures, materials, and safety standards governing electrical systems above 600 volts. In addition, work requires general mechanical skills and knowledge, and in some cases, may require knowledge of electronic principles as they pertain to airfield electronic control circuitry. Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment; and using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. RMS will be performing operational support to the Foreign Military Sales contract in Kuwait at Martyr Brigadier General Ali Flaih Air Base (AFAB), Balad, Iraq.
