About The Position

The selected individual will be required to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our high voltage system, ranging from 600 volts to 23,000 volts. Additional duties would include performing preventative maintenance on Automatic Transfer Switches and Emergency Diesel Generators. In addition, the selected individual will need to be able to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, troubleshoot/repair electrical circuits, operate/maintain/repair circuit breakers, repair/install cable terminations, install electronic controls, and perform lighting maintenance. The selected individual will troubleshoot/repair electrical circuits, calibrate equipment, and interpret schematics. Other duties include rebuilding equipment, installing electronic controls, lighting maintenance and performing preventative maintenance. This job may also require you to perform crane electrical maintenance.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Perform manual labor in an outdoor environment.
  • Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Work assigned shift as production needs.
  • Completed basic electrical theory classes or possess a journeyman electrician's license.
  • Good driving record.
  • Willing to become a qualified equipment operator (JLG, forklift, scissor-lift, etc.).
  • Place high priorities on safety and quality workmanship.
  • Willing to obtain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code.
  • Physically capable of working in manholes, climbing vertical ladders and working at moderate heights.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school graduate preferred, but previous on-the-job training will be considered in lieu of electrical theory courses.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment.
  • 4+ years’ experience as an industrial maintenance electrician/technician.
  • Knowledge in High Voltage cable splicing and terminating.
  • Knowledge in SCADA system maintenance.
  • Knowledge in primary and secondary breaker maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge in generator and automatic transfer maintenance and repair.
