About The Position

BRICK Gateway Academy Charter School seeks a dedicated, enthusiastic coach to lead student-athletes in competitive track and field while promoting teamwork, discipline, leadership, and personal growth. The coach is expected to create a safe, inclusive, and positive athletic environment that reflects BRICK's core values and school-wide expectations. Athletics are considered an extension of the classroom, and coaches are expected to help develop responsible, confident, and respectful young people.

Requirements

• Experience coaching or participating in track and field.
• Strong leadership, communication, and student relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse high school students.
• Willingness to complete required background checks, school onboarding, and applicable coaching, first aid, CPR, and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the physical and emotional safety of student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and athletic activities, and follow school safety, security, and emergency procedures.
• Model and reinforce BRICK's core values of Identity, Commitment, Curiosity, Achievement, Community Rootedness, and Empathy.
• Demonstrate and promote sportsmanship, integrity, respect, teamwork, and appropriate conduct toward athletes, officials, opponents, families, and staff.
• Plan and lead organized, engaging practices that develop athletic skills, teamwork, confidence, and competitive performance.
• Follow and enforce BRICK policies, including expectations for student conduct, attendance, dress, appropriate communication, and professional boundaries.
• Communicate consistently with school leadership, students, and families about schedules, expectations, student concerns, and team performance.
• Arrive on time, attend assigned practices and competitions, maintain appropriate supervision, and represent BRICK positively.
