About The Position

BRICK Gateway Academy Charter School seeks a dedicated, enthusiastic coach to lead student-athletes in competitive track and field while promoting teamwork, discipline, leadership, and personal growth. The coach is expected to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive athletic environment reflecting BRICK's core values and school-wide expectations. Athletics are considered an extension of the classroom, and coaches are expected to help develop responsible, confident, and respectful young people who represent the Wolfpack with pride.

Requirements

Experience coaching or participating in track and field.
Strong leadership, communication, and student relationship-building skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse high school students.
Willingness to complete required background checks, school onboarding, and applicable coaching, first aid, CPR, and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

Ensure the physical and emotional safety of student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and athletic activities, and follow school safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Model and reinforce BRICK's core values of Identity, Commitment, Curiosity, Achievement, Community Rootedness, and Empathy.
Demonstrate and promote sportsmanship, integrity, respect, teamwork, and appropriate conduct toward athletes, officials, opponents, families, and staff.
Plan and lead organized, engaging practices that develop athletic skills, teamwork, confidence, and competitive performance.
Follow and enforce BRICK policies, including student conduct, attendance, dress expectations, appropriate communication, and professional boundaries.
Maintain consistent communication with school leadership, students, and families regarding schedules, expectations, student concerns, and team performance.
Arrive on time, attend assigned practices and competitions, maintain appropriate supervision, and represent BRICK positively.
