9-12th Grade STEM Teacher

Kauffman School•Kansas City, MO

About The Position

The Ewing Marion Kauffman School is a free public charter school serving grades 5–12 and focused on creating college graduates. The school seeks results-driven, culturally responsive educators who hold high expectations for every student, build strong relationships, communicate expectations clearly, act purposefully, assess their impact, and provide rigorous learning that supports critical thinking and engagement with the world. The High School Teacher teaches students in grades 9–12 in subject areas that may include math, science, English, history, AP and dual-credit courses, or specials such as language, fitness, art, and music. Because the charter network is growing, teachers may teach across grades and content areas; grade-level and subject preferences are discussed during interviews, and flexibility is valued. Teachers develop and adapt standards-aligned curriculum, design assessments and use data to improve instruction, differentiate learning, and maintain rigorous and engaging instruction. They build authentic relationships, uphold consistent behavioral expectations, collaborate with colleagues, embrace feedback, and support the school’s mission and PREP values: Perseverance, Results, Empathy, and Passion.
