About The Position

The Reynoldsburg City Schools’ High School Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for successful graduation and post-secondary pathways. This position emphasizes content expertise, data-informed instructional practices, student advocacy, and collaboration to meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all learners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or content-specific field.
  • Valid Ohio Teaching License for Secondary Education (7-12) or appropriate Multi-Age license for specific electives.
  • Appropriate endorsements or certifications as required for the assigned content area.
  • Ability to pass Federal (FBI) and State (BCI) background checks.
  • Knowledge of secondary content standards, graduation requirements, and 21st-century skill development.
  • Skilled in data analysis, instructional technology, and differentiation strategies.
  • Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners.
  • Ability to foster student independence and self-advocacy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or 18+ graduate hours in the content area for College Credit Plus (CCP) eligibility.
  • Experience with Advanced Placement (AP), Project Lead the Way (PLTW), Career Technical Education (CTE), or similar programs.
  • Experience adapting curriculum for diverse learners and English Learners (EL).
  • For Foreign Language: Native or near-native fluency in the target language.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction aligned to Ohio Learning Standards and district curriculum.
  • Integrate instructional technology and digital resources to enhance learning and student engagement.
  • Differentiate instruction through varied strategies, including small-group instruction, interventions, and enrichment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to ensure students remain on track for graduation requirements.
  • Design, administer, and analyze formative and summative assessments to guide instructional decisions.
  • Maintain accurate student records in district systems (e.g., PowerSchool) and participate in MTSS, IEP, and 504 processes.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and restorative practices to support student behavior.
  • Collaborate with families, counselors, and staff regarding student progress and well-being.
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and adhere to the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Implement research-based literacy practices aligned to Structured Literacy; utilize Lexile levels to scaffold advanced reading and writing tasks (for English Language Arts / Literacy).
  • Apply concrete–representational–abstract (CRA) instructional sequences; integrate digital platforms (e.g., Desmos) to support mathematical reasoning (for Mathematics).
  • Facilitate inquiry-based learning and apply the Engineering Design Cycle; maintain laboratory safety standards in accordance with OSHA/NIOSH guidelines (for Science / STEM).
  • Facilitate inquiry-based learning using the C3 Framework (College, Career, and Civic Life); guide students through primary source analysis and the evaluation of diverse historical perspectives; promote evidence-based civil discourse on contemporary and historical issues (for Social Studies / Humanities).
  • Facilitate target-language immersion and communicative proficiency; integrate World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages and cultural competency into daily instruction (for Foreign Language).
