About The Position

For this Spanish Teacher position, you'll be working for our high school in Wilmington, Delaware called Freire Charter School Wilmington (8th-12th Grade). Freire is all about Graduation x 2 – graduation from high school and from college. We challenge our students to achieve higher than they ever have before, and we give them the support they need to get there, including individualized college counseling. 95% of The Class of 2025 received acceptances into 52 unique colleges and universities and earned nearly $4.3M in scholarship award offers. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher
Valid state teaching certification or the ability and willingness to obtain certification.
Strong content knowledge and grasp of the Spanish language.
Positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get a job done
At least 2 years of previous successful experience working with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a classroom culture of critical thinking, learning, respect, and high achievement for all students.
Leverage content specific curriculum and create learning materials to promote critical thinking and problem solving.
Establish consistent communication rhythms with families regarding individual student progress and school related information.
Actively participate in professional development and collaboration with staff to support the needs of our students.
