About The Position

The purpose of this role is to facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs, providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and offering feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.

  • Maintain Arizona Certification and fingerprint card.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress to support teacher's expectations, develop methods for improvement, and reinforce classroom goals in the home environment.
  • Assesses student's progress, expectations, and goals to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
  • Demonstrates methods required to perform assignments to provide an effective school program and address the needs of individual students.
  • Directs student workers, volunteers, etc. to maximize their efficiency and meet work requirements.
  • Facilitates student learning to achieve success in academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through a defined course of study.
  • Monitors student activities (e.g., classroom, lunch, grounds) to ensure the safety and welfare of students.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.
  • Prepares teaching materials and related reports (e.g., grades, attendance, anecdotal records) to implement lesson plans and document student progress.
  • Reports incidents (e.g., fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse) to maintain personal safety of students, provide a positive learning environment, and adhere to Education Code, administrative, and/or school policies.
  • Assists other teachers for the purpose of implementing curriculum.
  • Collaborates with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies to improve the quality of student outcomes, develop solutions, and plan curriculum.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
