Rocky Mountain Prep is an educational movement committed to democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families in Colorado. It operates twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade. The organization is dedicated to being a world-class learning environment that deeply invests in every educator, offering ongoing coaching, professional development, clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities for career advancement grounded in its PEAK values. RMP fosters a culture of rigor and love, promising to coach, develop, and champion every team member to help them grow professionally and personally. At Rocky Mountain Prep, high school Spanish is viewed as a pathway to biliteracy, cultural fluency, and expanded opportunity. The curriculum is designed to provide rigorous, engaging learning experiences that develop students’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while affirming the linguistic assets of both Heritage and Non-Heritage Spanish speakers. The program honors students’ lived experiences and home languages, building on their existing knowledge and accelerating them toward advanced levels of academic language and analytical thinking. Through aligned coursework, authentic texts, meaningful discourse, and culturally sustaining practices, students deepen their understanding of the diverse histories, identities, and global contributions of Spanish-speaking communities. Differentiated pathways ensure that every scholar is appropriately challenged and supported, preparing them for advanced study, confident cross-cultural engagement, and the DPS Seal of Biliteracy.
