About The Position

At the heart of GLOW Academy is a focus on “whole girl” education, aiming to foster leadership and confidence in students, build family support, and engage all students in a rigorous college preparatory program. Requirements

  • Have a passion for Spanish
  • Commitment to support student mastery of content
  • Possess critical thinking skills
  • Possess the willingness to collaborate with colleagues and school families, doing “whatever it takes”
  • Experience teaching the North Carolina State Standards for High School Spanish
  • Feel competent to teach in a diverse and ever changing learning environment
  • NC Teacher Certification in the subject area and relevant grades
  • Demonstrated ability to teach high school and/or grades 6-12 with a passion for and competency in the appropriate subject area
  • Demonstrated ability to build a warm and inclusive classroom environment
  • Demonstrated ability to implement positive behavior practices
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and families to support student success
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate rigorous and engaging lessons aligned to the content standards outlined in the NC Standard Course of Study
  • Awareness of educational issues regarding the academic and social development of a diverse population of students, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescent girls from high needs neighborhoods/communities
  • Possession of a valid TB test issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority
