About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Grand Ledge High School as a full-time resource room staff member. This role is designed for those who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
Valid teaching certification or special education endorsement preferred.
Experience working with high school students with disabilities or diverse learning needs.
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources.
Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support student learning.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with varying learning abilities and needs.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods and materials as necessary.
Facilitate a supportive and structured learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
Assist students in developing effective study skills, organizational strategies, and self-advocacy skills.
Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and support staff to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate educational goals and objectives.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Stay informed about best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
Support students in social-emotional learning and conflict resolution as needed.
