The job of "Paraeducator" is done for the purpose/s of assisting (under direct supervision) in the supervision and instruction of students, and relieving teachers of routine clerical tasks. This position works Monday – Friday, 8:55 am – 3:25 pm, 180 days per year (plus 10 paid holidays). This position will be responsible for supporting students with IEPs in large and small group settings in academic classrooms such as Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies. Must have an ability to provide accommodations and modifications to students as outlined in student IEPs and in collaboration with head classroom teacher. Knowledge and experience working with high school students with learning disabilities is preferred. Right Response de-escalation training will be a requirement once hired. Knowledge of restorative practices preferred. Must have the ability to be highly collaborative and independent. A small portion of each day (43 minutes) will be spent on campus security and general student supervision. A qualified applicant will feel comfortable building relationships with all students in order to direct them to comply with campus rules.
