About The Position

Summary Delta Center Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the Elementary Resource Room. This full-time position involves working with students who require additional support in their academic and social-emotional development. The ideal candidate will foster an inclusive and nurturing environment, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure each student reaches their full potential.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly those with special needs.
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the varied needs of students.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support student learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
• Provide targeted instruction and support in academic areas, including literacy, mathematics, and social skills.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and provide accommodations for students in the general education setting.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Assist in the development of behavior intervention plans and provide support for students with behavioral challenges.
• Foster relationships with community resources and support services to enhance student learning and well-being.
